Mr. Ingram

Introduction

Greetings to you! I would like to personally welcome your child/children to the Team Ingram Rayford Collins Jackson Boxing Club.

The Team Ingram Rayford Collins Jackson Boxing Club is a subsidiary program under the umbrella of the Lamont Ingram Developmental Organization for At-Risk Children which is a 501 (C)3 non-profit founded in 2008. Team Ingram Rayford Collins Jackson Boxing Club was founded in August 2017 by Mr. Lamont Ingram, an amateur and professional boxer with many achievements and awards. Team Ingram Rayford Collins Jackson Boxing Club program exists to provide structure, guidance, and mentorship to the youth in the community. Youth are taught discipline, respect, and sportsmanship while exhibiting character and integrity as they mature and grow into respectable young men and women.

Mr. Lamont Ingram began boxing in 1995 at the age of 14 years old. Mr. Lamont Ingram's mother placed him in boxing classes as a way to channel his anger and find a better way to deal with all the trouble Mr. Ingram was finding his way into. The young Mr. Ingram was always getting jumped on and bullied in school, stayed in trouble a lot, had a bad anger problem, and did not respect authority.

Mr. Ingram's amateur boxing coach was Rayford Collins (R.I.P), he was an awesome man and a surrogate father figure to many youths in Jackson, Tennessee. Coach Collins showed Mr. Lamont Ingram how to be respectful and to never give up no matter how hard life was. Mr. Lamont Ingram had a strong foundation because he had his mother, Mrs. Shirley Ingram, to ensure that Mr. Lamont Ingram made his way to the gym for practice, even if that meant sacrificing her own time and needs. Mrs. Shirley would work an exhausting 10 hours a day at Bruce Hardwood Floors and then take young Mr. Igram to boxing practice until he was able to get a car of his own at the age of 18. The support of family and friends is essential in the development of a child's character. Even the most unruliest child needs the love and structure of a family. In Mr. Lamont Ingram's 16 years of boxing, he only missed a year (if that, all together counted) because he was dedicated to the sport and performing well in the ring. Mr. Lamont Ingram ended his career in 2004 with a record of 58 wins, 10 losses, and 35 knockouts. He made history and won many awards, trophies, and medals.
